I watched my mother get dressed every morning — never quite happy with what she saw in the mirror. I never forgot that.

Years later, I noticed the same thing happening to myself, and to almost every woman I knew past forty. Stores stopped paying attention. The choices got smaller, plainer — like beauty was something you aged out of instead of grew into.

Combining my daughter Emily’s fresh eye for design with my own thirty years of tailoring expertise, we founded Verde & Silk. We believe a woman in her forties, fifties, or beyond deserves just as much care and beautiful design as she did at twenty-five. Maybe more, because now she actually knows who she is.
